agree with 'gz0422lulu" argument '美帝确实钱多人傻" it is not difficult to get a PHD if you know how to be a "good" student in a US school. It is not study or how much your know determine how much scholarship you will get or graduate, it is how you manage your professors determine how well you are in a PHD program in US. Therefore, learning English (not the book English, life, living English), culture, politics be more important than studying your classes with the assumption that you are at least as good at your classmates.

对于榜单前三非常认可。 Waterloo是世界一流精算名校；Heriot-Watt有Iain Currie，个人非常崇拜，非常绅士的一个老头。应该这个学校的life 方面很强；对于第五名 New South Wales则不太认同，澳洲精算比较好的还是澳洲国立，不过读精算PhD的寥寥，几乎全部是统计。Singapore: NUS, SMU，新加坡国立的精算还是蛮强的，澳洲国立和新加坡国立有一个交流i项目，新加坡国立来的尖子无论硬实力还是软实力都是非常强的~
如果读PhD，而且将来准备做学术的话，还是建议读统计的把，如果将来你还准备进军Industry，你有几篇好质量的paper应该会给你的简历增光的~
