CFA is not really useful for financial engineering, where the most important will be mathematical finance, C++ or VBA or C#, and knowledge of financial derivatives. However, CFA can be a asset and it may provide you some financial sense.

CFA 确实是asset

The key point is that:

CFA is a professional certificate not a certificate of your academic ability.

When you are looking for jobs, it is useful.

Preparing CFA itself has some help to the learning of financial engineering, but very limited.

I don't recommend you to take CFA exam for learning FE.
