Description:
Arnold Saxton, Ph.D., the editor of this volume, is a professor of animal science at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. During years of research and teaching in statistics and genetics, Dr. Saxton recognized the need for a how-to introduction to SAS computer analysis for complex-trait genetics. He assembled 16 coauthors from around the world to create this unique compilation. Example-rich and experiment-driven, Genetic Analysis of Complex Traits Using SAS demonstrates how you can use SAS and SAS/Genetics to extract answers from your quantitative and molecular genetics data. The book guides you through the mix of genetic, statistical, and SAS skills that are needed, enabling you to apply what you've learned to your own experimental data. You'll find this an invaluable resource whether you are a researcher, scientist, graduate student, bioinformatician, or statistician--or any other SAS user interested in joining the highly active and exciting field of genetic analysis.

Statistical Analysis of Management Data Gatignon, Hubert 2003, 280 p., Hardcover ISBN: 1-4020-7315-1

Statistical Analysis of Management Data is especially designed to provide doctoral students with a theoretical knowledge of the basic concepts underlying the most important multivariate techniques and with an overview of actual applications in various fields. The content herein addresses both the underlying mathematics and problems of application. As such, a reasonable level of competence in both statistics and mathematics is needed. This book is not intended as a first introduction to statistics and statistical analysis. Instead it assumes that the student is familiar with basic statistical techniques. The techniques are presented in a fundamental way but in a format accessible to students in a doctoral program, to practicing academicians, and to data analysts.

Econometrics

Franco Peracchi

ISBN: 0-471-98764-6

Hardcover

702 pages

February 2001

CDN $181.99

In Econometrics the author has provided a text that bridges the gap between classical econometrics (with an emphasis on linear methods such as OLS, GLS and instrumental variables) and some of the key research areas of the last few years, including sampling problems, nonparametric methods and panel data analysis. Designed for advanced undergraduates and postgraduate students of the subject, Econometrics provides rigorous, yet accessible, coverage of the subject.

Key features include:

* A unified approach to statistical estimation emphasising the analogy (or bootstrap) principle

* An introduction to bootstrap and jackknife methods for assessing the accuracy of an estimator

* Detailed discussion of nonparametric methods for estimating density and regression of functions

* Emphasis on diagnostic procedures and on prediction criteria for evaluating the results fo statistical analysis

* An introduction to linear exponential family and generalized linear models

* A thorough discussion of robustness in statistical sense
