学校档次倒没有特别关注，想申请金融工程，数理金融或数学类的博士

I am using a public computer in the U.S. So I am not able to type in any Chinese characters.

1. Financial engineering is mostly master programs, 2 years, not research-based. totally different from a PhD program.

2. If you are applying to finance/econ/math PhD programs, GRE is not very important since schools only look at quant part and writing part, verbal part is not essential. Hence no need to spend large amount of time on vocabulary and reading (verbal).

3. Most important thing for PhD application is letter of recommendation. If possible, recommenders should be professors from the U.S. If you can secure a letter from a big name in academia, you can get into most of the programs in the u.s.

also, your own research experience is very important. But given that you are now doing a PhD, I think you already have stronger research background than most of the applicants.

哦，呵呵，我在美国读经济学MA, 今年刚第一年，打算毕业了继续申博士的。有空交流一下，QQ 52867394

请问楼主或者大家知不知道top50里面，相对来说哪些学校经济PHD招收的人比较多或者说中国人比较多呢？我是本科生，想直接申PHD，科研有经历，但是没有什么文章发表，最多就是个writing sample。所以恐怕难度比较大一些，因此想去申那些相对来说对中国学生比较友好、招收比较多的学校~

有些2、3流儿学校的博士项目几乎成了中国学生的专门培训基地！呵呵

美国的经济学博士招生数量相对较多，在industry和academia都不好就业，但是business的PhD就不同了，以Finance PhD为例，全美只有71所学校开设，平均一个学校招3个，一年不过200多人毕业，如果申到business PhD，毕业后的情况和Econ可谓天壤之别。
