three fields: asset pricing, corporate fiannce, financial institution

for a PhD in finance, there are three core courses:

  asset pricing, for example Continuous time finance, financial derivatives, and so on

  corporate fiannce, including game theory

 financial econometrics

of course, you should learn stochastic integral and SDE first, otherwise you cannot understand most coureses above.
