各位前辈，Beyond pleasure and pain (Higgins, 1997)中有两个术语： promotion focus ideals和prevention-focus oughts，Higgins 这篇文章提出了regulatory focus这篇理论，但前面所提的术语确实让人很挠头，网上也查过，但没有关于这两个术语的翻译。所以麻烦看过这篇文章，或者对regulatory focus theory 比较熟悉的人帮忙翻译一下。谢谢！

individuals differ in their approach to the pursuit of positive goals and avoidance of negative goals.

regulatory focus theory offers one key to the understanding of these differences, its main thesis being that people in general, and by extension consumers in particular, are guided in their purchasing behavior by either promotion or prevention.

the former concerns the attainment of such positive personal outcomes as advancement and achievement, the latter the avoidance of negative outcomes relating to protection and security.
