Price bubbles are a regularly recurring phenomenon in property markets. The term bubble refers to a substantial and sustained mispricing of an asset. Their existence cannot be proven conclusively unless they burst, but recurring patterns of property market excess are observable in the historical data.
The UBS Global Real Estate Bubble Index analyzes the severity of various bubble symptoms in selected global financial centers and gauges the risk of a property bubble on the basis of such patterns.
