Assume the government is analysing how best to provide child care assistance for low income families. A child care program could provide a subsidy to lower the hourly rate that a family pays for child care. Alternatively, the government could provide a lump sum payment that could be spent on child care or other goods such as food and clothing. Assuming that the family receiving either form of support considers child care to be an inferior but non-giffen good and either option costs the same to the government, answer the following questions;
a) Illustrate the initial choice that the family faces between hours of day care per day and all other goods consumed per day, as well as the optimal bundle chosen by the family
b) If the price subsidy policy was adopted, illustrate how it could affect the family’s consumption of child care and other goods.
c) If the lump sum payment policy was adopted, illustrate how it could affect the family’s consumption of child care and other goods.
d) On the basis of parts (b) and (c), compare the relative merits of each policy.
这道题的具体内容我不是很清晰 好像是政府打算给低收入家庭提供儿童补助 这个计划 可以降低家庭托儿的费用 或者 政府可以可以提供 一批 儿童用品 比如食物和衣服 假设家庭对于两种方式的方案来说 儿童监护 是 inferior的（不知道 又应该怎么翻译 应该是 收入增加 购买数量减少）另外 两种选择的花费对政府来说是相同的 问：解释说明 家庭面对的两种选择 还有他们两个的组合 如果选择第一个计划 那对儿童物品的购买和其他物品有什么影响 如果选择第二个 对家庭儿童购物和其他商品有什么影响 比较两个计划的相互优缺点
