I just winder if some of you can help me on this. I heard that SPSS has a function similar to Jackknife error estimates.

  1. Do you know where is it? What is the function called? How does it work?
  2. Is there any comprehensive online source regarding these error estimate methods (Jackknife, etc.) so I can quickly review?

Thank you very much for your help in advance!

NLR procedure (Analyze |Regression |Nonlinear...) allows one to bootstrap error estimates. This is somewhat similar to jackknifing. The nonlinear regression procedure can be used to bootstrap means, linear, and nonlinear equations. See www.spsstools.net for bootstrapping other statistics with the macro language. Jon Peck of SPSS, showed that bootstrapping, and and most likely jackknifing, will be greatly simplified in SPSS.

SYSTAT (30 day demo available, www.systat.com) is an even more user-friendly stat package than is SPSS and many of its modules have built in bootstrapping/jackknifing capabilities.
