  • A 'Chelsea Tractor' - the four wheeled drive, expensive, vehicles beloved of rich ladies in London.
  • 'She could talk the hind legs off a donkey' - she talks too much.
  • 'Coffin dodger' - an extremely elderly individual, not yet deceased.
  • 'Fur coat and no knickers!' - an individual who is all appearance, no underlying substance.
  • 'Syrup of figs' - a wig.
  • Butty - sandwich
  • Brolly - umbrella
  • Soz - sorry
  • Gutted - upset
  • Chuffed - happy
  • Pants - underwear, NOT trousers
  • Chips - fries, not potato chips
  • Crisps - potato chips
  • Wanker - literally means someone who masturbates (or wanks off) but used as an insult, like asshole
  • FFS - for fuck's sake
  • Sod - fuck as in sof off (fuck off), this sodding rain (this fucking rain)
  • Swings and roundabouts - it's all the same things, just different ways of looking at it
  • What are you on about - what are you saying?
  • Can't be bothered/can't be arsed - don't want to do something
  • Shag - sex
  • Chav - UK equivalent of American trailer trash
  • Twat - literally I think it means vagina but is used as an insult
  • Nowt - nothing
  • Tea - dinner
  • Cuppa/brew - cup of tea or coffee
  • Innit - literally means isn't it, used at end of a sentence to get ageement or after stating a fact
  • Shank  - knife or stab. "I will fucking shank you bruv"

    Butters - ugly.

    Sket - slut/slag.

    Fam/famo - abbreviation of family, but used to describe "your crew".

    Endz - your area "I come from the endz fam"

    Brap - useless filler word "brap brap fam, your sket is butters"

    Blud - used the same way groups of friends in the USA might use the N word/blood brother. Can be aggressive or friendly.

    Wagwan - what's going on?

    Bare - a lot/great
