Economic Explanation on "Needham Puzzle" and

Science and Technological Advancement Strategy in China

Abstract: Based on J.Y. Lin's interpretation of "Needham Puzzle", this paper analyzes the puzzle from another perspective. It is argued that because the highest agricultural productivity level in ancient China had never been reached, China could not achieve industrial revolution. Also because of this, the induced stable "Triangle" had also never been broken; the essential technological innovation in China became impossible. Several policy recommendations on "Scientific and Technological Advancement " strategy are presented in the end.
