i heard that nowadays the company would only like to hire local or people with PR. for those who don't have a green card, they don't even have a chance to send there resume. is that right?
is there any possibility that international students could find an entry-level job for now?
i really appreciate it if you can let us know what is going on there right now...

I study actuarial science in Manhattan, New York City. You are very right about the job market - companies tend to falter on helping F-1 (or any non-resident) with visa sponsorship.
Entry-level job requirement for domestic students can be as low as exam P only, but for international student the competition is breakneck, getting a summer internship is still the gate way to working legally.

by the way, are you studying degree or master there? did you find an internship this summer?

and have you heard about Drake University, UW-Eau Claire and UW-Madison? do you know which one is the best among them for actuarial science?
