survival analysis using the SAS System: A practical Guide. SAS Institue Inc. Gary, NC,1995

The book is one of the best books written by Paul Allison about applied statistical analysis on SAS. Many have complained of the too-light touch on theory in this book, which also serves as the commonest property about his other books. In my opinion, even though those theoretical researchers are not fond of that, I had read it several times and considered it very useful in practice, while I might have different opinions on some issues he had claimed or stated in the book.
In most part, the book has illustrated the essence in survival analysis with many examples and SAS codes, plus his easy-understanding language. What I disagree is to judge and then ignore it only by its age because many things in the book are still the guild lines in basic survival analysis.
On the other hand, survival analysis has developed very broadly nowadays thus I would also like to recommend a book named ‘Handbook of Statistics, Vol23—Survival Analysis’ in my previous postings for extensive knowledge in this area.
