Tesla will begin partial production at its new Shanghai factory in the second half of next year, according to a post on a Shanghai municipal WeChat account.

On Wednesday, Shanghai’s mayor Ying Yong paid a visit to the city’s Lingang area, where Tesla has secured a 200-acre site for its first Chinese production plant.
