To our members: We have just returned to our office from the 25th Annual General Meeting which concluded last Friday, April 23rd in San Francisco. By all reckoning, it was a great success. Despite the great difficulty in travel from Europe, we had over 650 guests. We had keynote addresses from Deputy U.S. Treasury Secretary Neal Wolin and former U.S. Treasury Undersecretary John Taylor, the developer of the Taylor Rule and an eminent academic. We ran a series of panels addressing regulation, our products, clearing, documentation, etc. We concluded the meeting by sending an open letter to the US Congress that outlined much of the progress that has been achieved to make the OTC derivatives marketplace safer and more efficient. |
