在英语中，B超有个学名叫B-scan ultrasonography. 其中，scan指的是“扫描”，而ultrasonography是指“超声波检查法”的意思. 那前面的"B"是什么呢？ B超中的B，其实是亮度（brightness）的缩写，是一种通过超声波的亮度来进行检查的方式。 所以，“B超”中的"B"就是“亮度”的意思啦。 例： Objective To descripte the B-scan ultrasound image characteristics of exudative senile maculardegeneration(ESMD). 目的探讨渗出型老年性黄斑变性的B型超声图像特征。 除了B超之外，还有一个在人们生病的时候也会检查到的项目，那就是"CT"： CT的专业表达是：computed tomography 中文解释为：计算机断层扫描，它是一种临床上常用的肺部疾病检查方法。 例： Tests, such as a computed tomography (CT) scan, may also reveal signs of injury. 计算机断层扫描等检测也可能揭示损伤迹象。 以上的两项检查项目，都是我们在“体检”时会检查到的，那“体检”的英文是什么呢？ ①check-up 这里大白有一个词组：a regular check-up 表示“定期检查”。 例： Even if you have had a regular physical check-up recently, you should still seek a medicalopinion. 即使你最近已经进行了常规体检，也还是应该听听医学专家的意见。 ②physical examination physical指“身体上的”，examination是“检查”的意思。 例： On the second visit he performed a physical examination so rigorous and thorough that onepatient told him in awe, "I have never been examined that way before." 第二次来访时，他为患者做非常严格彻底的身体检查，所以一名患者敬畏地告诉他，“我过去从没有这样被检查过。” ③medical examination medical和physical相近，都是指“身体上的”意思。 例： At present, as more and more people receive medical examination, this paper discusses someconsiderations of establishing a medical examination center to ensure patients interests. 目前越来越多的人主动来医院接受健康体检。为了保障广大患者的切身利益，提出筹建体检中心需注意的事项。
