Open 这个单词我们知道是「打开」的意思，比如：开门，是 open the door. Shut 也是一个动词，表示「关上」，open-and-shut , 这里不能按它的直译理解，以为是「打开关上」，它的含义是「非常清晰明了，一目了然的」。

发音

我们在读这句话的时候，要注意 shut 的尾音 /t/, 因为后面接的是其他辅音，所以需要失音爆破不发出来, 读成：shut case.
