It is very incisive to say this: "things don't matter until the day they matter; we're getting close to the day when it will matter". I'm sure that lawmakers will reach a compromise at the last minute.

In the end , the D and R would compromise for their nation's interest. As the aspect of American, they increase the limit of debt, they have many advantages: First, they would gain latent benifits with the inflation. Second, with the debt ,they can increase their investment and creat more surplus. What's more, there has be many unexpected results.

(Reuters) - A sharply divided Congress pursued rival budget plans on Monday (that appeared unlikely to win broad support), pushing the United States closer to a ratings downgrade and debt default (that would send shockwaves through global markets).

路透社消息:一个尖锐的国会追赶对手分歧计划将在星期一出现,那不可能赢得国外广泛的支持,使美国更加接近利率退步和债务拖欠,将会产生全球市场的冲击波。

quite agree with the bengdi 's viewpoint, the D and R will finally compromise for the the nation's interest, which  to win time to solve the problem and benefit from the scenario.
