A professor at the ChineseUniversity of Hong Kong is looking to recruit a full-time research assistant startingfrom November/December 2011. The successful applicant will assist in theconduct of research in mergers and acquisitions, securities markets and otherrelated fields, and perform administrative tasks from time to time.
The initial contract can be three or six months startingfrom November/December 2011, and is renewable subject to satisfactory performanceand mutual agreement. Salary will be highly competitive, commensurate withqualifications and experience. The University offers a comprehensive fringebenefit package, including medical care, depending on the length of thecontract.
Who should apply:
- A bachelor degree in finance, economics, accounting or statistics is required. Those with higher degree in these fields are preferred. Demonstrable research experience in mergers and acquisitions is an advantage.
- Familiarity with CCER, CSMAR, NewsWise, and Wind is required. Demonstrable abilities to manually collect data from archives (e.g. company prospectuses, CSRC publications, professional news outlets) are an advantage.
- Familiarity with statistical software packages such as STATA, SAS, or SPSS is required.
- Applicants with ambition to pursue PhD training and academic career are strongly encouraged. Hard-working and diligence are highly valued.
- Applicants available to work for at least six months or longer are preferred.
