Abstract:	Knowledge discovery based on Gene Expression Programming(GEP) with its history and features was introduced. The key techniques to solve complex problem by simple coding in GEP were analysed. The achievements in research area both home and abroad were introduced including polynomial factorization based on GEP,frequent function mining,anti-noise algorithm for function mining,prediction for sun spot by GEP. Some strategies for the futures study in GEP were also presented.
