You can use the LIBNAME statement to reference not only SAS files but also files that were
created with other software products, such as database management systems.

SAS can read or write these files by using the appropriate engine for that file type. Depending on
your operating environment and on the SAS/ACCESS products that you license, you can create
libraries with various engines. Each engine enables you to read a different file format, including
file formats from other software vendors.

“libname oratabs oracle user=USERNAME
orapw = PASSWORD path = "@INSTANCE" schema = TRIALNAME;”
上面这个中的 oracle   甲骨文  就是一种engine
engine就是一种系统或文件方式之类的
我讲不清
比如SPSS，Excel都能是engine.

engine 的本义，据美国传统字典：A machine that converts energy into mechanical force or motion。所以其要义在 Convert转换.在SAS里，应该是对外部数据格式如EXCEL、ACCESS、ORACLE,SAS自己的数据版本如V6、V8等进行格式转换，以便SAS读取，写入。

还是不明白啊

我觉得是引擎的意思吧，SAS9.2里默认的就是V9，如果连接其他引擎如oracle，db2，access等数据库引擎，就要加上这个引擎名告诉SAS连接该库引擎

libanme libref spss 'sas-data-library' 建立了这个spss引擎  ，之后有什么用？
