Summary: Nokia Reorganization Reflects Consumerization of IT Carolina Milanesi, Leif-Olof Wallin. After the reorganization, which comes into place on 1 January 2008, Nokia will report financial results from two segments: Nokia Siemens Networks (its joint venture responsible for mobile infrastructure) and a division named Devices & Services. The new structure appears to make sense: Nokia's current organization of its handset business into separate units (Mobile Phones, Multimedia and Enterprise Solutions) is at odds with the way the device market is moving. The Markets unit will be key to Nokia's success as it builds on Nokia's solid track record for distribution and develops ways to reach consumers with devices and services. "Dataquest Insight: Apple and Nokia Drive Change in Consumer Applications Delivery" Apple's launch of the iPhone and Nokia's focus on applications to drive handset sales will alter the competitive dynamics of the mobile industry.
