In a world increasingly starved for growth, we believe Indonesia has several substantial macro tailwinds that will continue to drive its GDP higher – and potentially with lower than average volatility. However, recent economic growth has come at a significant cost, and in our view, the country now needs to address the notable increases in both its fiscal and current account deficits.
