          Hanqing Advanced Institute of Economics and Finance

              Faculty Positions in Economics and Finance


     Renmin University is a leading Chinese university in
     economics and finance. To further integrate education and
     research in economics and finance with the international
     frontier, Renmin University has recently founded the new
     Hanqing Advanced Institute of Economics and Finance. The
     Hanqing Institute is partially endowed by a generous gift
     of RMB 100 million from Mr. Zhao Hanqing, a well known
     entrepreneur in China. The Hanqing Institute aims to
     establish a world-class faculty with a strong focus on
     frontier research, high-quality graduate teaching and
     intensive international academic exchanges and cooperation.
     The Hanqing Institute has a full capacity of 50 faculty
     positions, and is now inviting applications in all areas of
     economics and finance at all ranks (assistant/associate/
     full professor).


     JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

     Junior candidates must have a PHD by August 2008 and
     evidence of promising research. Senior candidates must have
     a PHD and strong research records. The Hanqing Institute
     provides competitive compensation packages, RMB 250,000-
＜SCRIPT＞＜/SCRIPT＞      300,000 for assistant professor and 300,000-500,000 for
     associate/full professor. The Hanqing Institute will also
     provide other benefits, including housing subsidy and
     research support.


     APPLICATION PROCEDURE:

     Application deadline is December 30, 2007 or until the
     positions are filled. Representatives will interview
     applicants at the AEA/AFA meetings in New Orleans, LA in
     January 2008. Applicants should submit a cover letter,
     curriculum vitae, a sample of written work, three letters
     of reference, and evidence of teaching effectiveness to:

看到这个消息非常高兴。感到人大在经济学现代化的道路上终于迈出了关键性的一步。25-30万，30-50万的工资及其他补助使得人大与国内进行海外招聘的其他学校有了竞争的可能性。衷心希望人大能够招到有潜力的人才。

另外，本人有一个小小的建议，这个中心一定要有一个很好的leader，这对于中心的发展至关重要。
