I used to work in fast consuming industry.
Excess inventory, no matter which form, I mean raw material, WIP or finished product, is always a red flag for administrators.
Normally, we dump inventory frequently during the fiscal year.
We make sure don't have "too much" at the end of year.
There won't be obsolete inventory as long as your price is low enough.
You may go to your sales agents, business partners or even competitors for potential sales opportunity.
Normally speaking, there is an informal obsolete material market.
There are always plenty of value-chasers waiting for your offer.
In summary, in this case, get rid of it as soon as possible.
Good luck.
