1.Purpose of the Job
Lead M&A activities to identify and execute opportunities for acquisitions & divestitures that support achieving the Company’s long-term growth objectives.
Lead the assessment of special projects and new business opportunities, reviewing from a financial, strategic, operational perspective to determine a recommended course of action. Examples of special projects include assessing strategic JVs, distribution of third party products, buy decisions, divestment decisions.
2. Business environment
Main characteristics: (Challenges)
Support M&A director on assigned M&A, divestiture and strategic projects.
Work closely and communicate effectively with different functions on global M&A to assess acquisition/divestiture opportunities, establish transaction priorities and lead the evaluation process.
Deliver accurate valuation and business cases.
Manage cross-functional project teams to establish integration (or separation) processes.
Evaluate and manage implications of transactions on Company’s financial profile.
Coordinate advisor role in transactions, e.g., investment banks and consultants.
Participate in negotiation of M&A and divestiture deals.
Develop capability to lead negotiation in the future.
Further develop financial skills to get ready to move into other financial functions as opportunities arise

4. Qualifications and Technical competencies required
Education
MBA in a top school preferred
Experience
Experienced professional with proved tracking record of involving M&A transactions from beginning to the end.
Previous experience at strategic consulting firms is a big plus
Fluent in English and native in Mandarin
Technical competencies: (Job related)
Financial acumen. Good interpersonal and presentation skills. Excel modelling capabilities. Multi-lingual (English, plus either, French, Dutch, Spanish or Portuguese)
