The best way I can figure out is to talk.
Find professionals working in the area and talk to them face to face.

Ask them to tell you their daily life.
What they like most about their job?
What they really don't like?
What is the most challenging job they have ever faced?

Personally speaking,
technical job is good for a simple person.

If you have a lot of principles to hold,
if you want to run a routine life style,
you'd better stay with your diamond.
