remember USD/RMB 6.25 is NOT equal to 6.25 USD/RMByou can treat the "/" as a seperation point.
if USD / RMB 6.25, then it means 1 USD / 6.25 RMB
if 6.25 USD / RMB, then it means 6.25 USD / 1 RMB
the sign "/" in mathematics means "divided by", if you see 6.25(ignore the dollar sign), it is exactly the same as 6.25/1
because any number divided by 1 is euqal to the number itself. So, we usually write 6.25 instead of 6.25 / 1.
Therfore, 6.25 USD /RMB actually means 6.25 USD / (1) RMB. In english, it means 6.25 USD per 1 RMB.
However, if you see USD /RMB 6.25, you shoud know it means (1)USD / 6.25 RMB because they are seperated by the "/" sign.

In addition, you should pay attention in FX market, there are 2 types of quotations, i.e. direct quote and indirect quote.

direct quotation = 1 / indirect quotation and vice versa
