<p>personal opinion:</p><p>1. network externality and&nbsp;competition,&nbsp;its welfare implication (ex. whether Microsoft is such a monopoly&nbsp;that&nbsp;the government shoould&nbsp;set laws against it to raise the welfare of the society)&nbsp;</p><p>2. efficiency of private firms and natonal entreprises (DEA, Stochastic Frontier)</p><p>3. hierarchy within and between firms (as old as Coase (195x), yet still vital as you can see papers in RAND Journal)</p><p>4. see the handbook of industrial organization, which should inspire anyone a lot.</p>
