Responsibilities

Perform actuarial audits in support of the audits of financial statements in a variety of GAAPs such as HKFRS, IFRS, PRC GAAP, US GAAP, and other European standards
Provide a wide range of advisory services including due diligence, pricing, modelling, risk management
Manage projects to deliver quality audits and advisory services
Review the actuarial methods, assumptions and related information
Identify and resolve complex audit and actuarial issues  
Meet with clients regularly to obtain updates on their business, discussing issues, presenting key findings, and making practical recommendations
Support Audit professionals
Play a key role in preparing presentations, proposal, thought leadership, and actuarial reports




Experience

Fellowship or Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society, Faculty and Institute of Actuaries, Institute of Actuaries of Australia or Fellow of China Actuarial Association
A minimum of three years relevant actuarial experience in the insurance industry
Candidates with prior consulting experience and strong experience related to pricing, statistical modelling, risk management is an advantage
Strong technical skills and ability to research actuarial issues in a wide variety of GAAPs
Ability to make sound business judgments in assessing the significance of issues and developing value-added recommendations
Excellent communication skills in both oral and written English and Chinese while proficiency in Mandarin is desirable  
Self-starter with good analytical skills and a proactive approach to problem solving
Ability to multi-task, be flexible, meet tight deadlines and work under pressure


sr manager

Responsibilities

Managing various actuarial advisory projects and providing recommendations to clients
Playing a key role in preparing presentations and proposals, and maintaining relationships with clients
Taking leadership role for Actuarial and Insurance Risk Management practice in China
Performing actuarial audits in support of the audits of financial statements in a variety of standards such as HKFRS, IFRS, PRC GAAP, US GAAP, and embedded value reporting (TEV/EEV/MCEV)
Reviewing actuarial methods, assumptions and related information
Identifying and helping to resolve complex audit and actuarial issues




Experience

Fellowship or Associate of the Society of Actuaries, Institute of Actuaries, Institute of Actuaries of Australia, Casualty Actuarial Society or Actuarial Society of Hong Kong
A minimum of eight years’ relevant actuarial experience in the life insurance industry with a strong focus on financial reporting
Strong technical skills, ability to research actuarial issues in a wide variety of GAAPs; exposure to the Sarbanes-Oxley Act is desirable  
Ability to make sound business judgments in assessing the significance of issues and developing value-added recommendations
Excellent communication skills in both oral and written English and Chinese while proficiency in Mandarin is desirable  
Self-starter with good analytical skills and a proactive approach to problem solving
Ability to multi-task, be flexible, meet tight deadlines and work under pressure  
Ability to establish rapport with clients
