An Analysis of Brazil’s Competitiveness of the Steel Industry

 

The ninth largest steel producer in the world, Brazil’s steel industry enjoys fairly high competitiveness. In the 1990s the government launched an ambitious program of privatization in the industry to encourage the application of new technology and administration. In the meantime, it set to accelerate the economic growth, which brought the industry with a booming market and increasing investment. Rich in quality iron ore, Brazil makes its steel industry acquire particularly low cost.
