so tail prob=1-P

tail prob 就是right tail，都是用一减的呀。

你书上关于这段的原话是怎么写的？

你的问题出在没有理解 u  tPu和 miu

Look at slide1、2,  status u is defined as all lives survive at time t.
miu, the force of mortality,ie, failure rate, is the annualized prob that xk dies in the next instant.

基本逻辑是：
prob of  failure of status u =  prob of ( at least one person dead) =====〉 miu
1- prob of failure = tail prob of failure =no failure = status u is still intact =   tPu = tP1*tP2..*tPm

therefore,
the tail probability distribution of the failure time of the joint-life status
= tPu
=1-prob of failure time
=1- exp(-miu)      since miu=A is constant

谢谢lsd大力帮助我现在已经理解了，真的是非常感谢。好高兴在这里能遇上那么多热心人。最后我只是想确定一下怎么求出exp（miu）的，是不是用silde 4那一个miu=-d/dtlntPu那一个公式求出tPu啊？真的不好意思这是我的选修课，所以问了一些很白痴的问题。

其一，一般waiting time 都是exponential distribution or Poisson
其二，exponential distribution 的failure rate 绝对是constant 你题里给出A（lamda，which is a constant parameter) 那就不用考虑别的distribution
