please share some of your experiences. I am going to start the study of staistics, but have no idea which software should be selected. Anyone knows which software would have brighter future than others? Thanks so much for any of your suggestion or information.

SAS? R? 我也不知道

It depends。 my choice are : Excel, Sas and stata

Thank you guys for ur answering. How about R? It's free, more flexible and compatible to C/C++, is it correct?
Any ideas about this?

R 不错的，其他的没用过

well. That depends. If you only want to perform basic analyze, excel and miniTab, are enough. If you want to find a job, SAS may be helpful. If you want to do some scientific analysis, R would be the best choice. People who study Sociology might prefer SPSS. Or maybe your department provide Stata free for students.

楼上已经回答的很到位了，曾经听老师说，如果把统计软件和照相机比的话，SPSS是傻瓜照相机，SAS和STATA是专业数码相机，可能有一定道理。

If you learn just statistics, choose SAS. If you want some externality of a software on other subjects after you finish studying statistics, such as dynamic system analysis, solve equations, simulation and etc., choose MATLAB or GAUSS.
