Five people, including three gunmen and two Pakistani policemen, were killed on Friday in a failed attack on the Chinese consulate in Pakistan’s southern port city of Karachi.
At least 20 Chinese nationals were in the consulate located in the upmarket Clifton neighbourhood at the time of the attack, but all were unharmed, according to a senior police officer. The gunmen managed to enter the consulate’s visa section before Pakistani policemen shot them, the senior officer said.
