Growing attention on the developing world’s potential for export led growth has naturally flowed into the agricultural sector. I examine the effects of Malawian crop adoption on childhood health to determine the effects of transitioning to cash crops in risky food markets. Preliminary results indicate that cash crop households had higher levels of childhood stunting, which may suggest providing additional support for food crop production.
对发展中世界出口带动增长潜力的日益关注自然流入了农业部门。我研究了马拉维采用作物对儿童健康的影响，以确定在危险的粮食市场转向经济作物的影响。初步结果表明，经济作物家庭的儿童发育迟缓程度较高，这可能意味着需要为粮食作物生产提供额外的支持。
