我想问一个关于marginal distribution 的问题：
xi ~ N(mu, sigma), i=1,....,n
mu ~ N(a,b)
sigma ~ IG(c,d)
这里a,b,c,d已知

我想问这里的marginal distribution（ p(x)）能写成closed form么？
我算得头都大了，我觉得不能，但是有人告诉我可以……
所以请教一下各位

不知道你marginal 是指posterior,如果是,可以.一般的bayesian econometrics的书都会涉及

不是posterior，就是指p(x)，两重积分后的结果

没有人理我么？

It depends on the choices of your priors. If mu and sigma are conjugate, then you can get the explicit form of the posterior distributions. If not, you cannot, so you might use Gibbs sampling algorithm.
