The CLTR project was launched on 28 December 2004.
On 12 May 2008, CLTR was officially designated by the Ministry of Health of the People’s Republic of China to be the only national liver transplant registry in China.
The missions are to:

Register all liver transplantation (LT) procedures in China

Track and collect life-long information of each LT recipient

Analyze and evaluate current status and trend of LT in national level

Provide data, research and analysis support to participating centers

Facilitate communications between LT centers in China

Establish a scientific platform for academic exchange between LT centers in China and international LT community
The centric online database was established and official data collection started on 4 April 2005. Until 20th May 2010, there are 17,783
liver transplant records in the CLTR database and the number of participating liver transplant centers reaches 80, which covers all liver transplant centers in mainland China. During the reported period, the Research Officer responsible for the CLTR project visited 40 transplant centers in China for training and data audit purpose.
Position: Biostatistician/ Statistician/ Data Analyst
Major Job Responsibilities
1. Carry out a variety of professional assignment involving systematic collection, validation, transformation, analysis, and interpretation of clinical/medical data. Support all statistical activities in all phases of the assigned project related human organ transplantation development programme.
2. Perform national database analyses, including the survival analysis, univariate and multivariate Cox regression model analysis; establish statistical models (such as the risk-adjusted statistical model for assessment of the professional level of transplant centers, the statistical model for the prediction of postoperative survival rate or mortality of individual patients and the simulation model prior to adjustment of the organ allocation policy for transplantation targeting the impact of policy adjustment on prognosis of patients etc); generate national and center-specific reports based on a variety of descriptive analyses; illustrate the current status and development trend of organ transplantation in China.
3. Generate academic reports (PPT and the publication of articles) both in Chinese and English; respond to the request for data analysis made by different transplant centers; verify the results of data analyses conducted by all the transplant centers based on national data.
4. Conduct database data management and conversion, including data format conversion, data cleaning, cross-validation of inter-data logic and analysis of the characteristics of data distribution.
5. Provide training for data management teams in different transplant centers; follow the progress of Europe and America in methods of data analyzing through paper reading; communicate with the administrative agencies of organ transplantation in Europe and America.
Jobholder’s Requirements
Master’s Degree in Clinical Medicine or higher;
Master’s Degree of Statistical Analyst or medicine-related domains, or higher;
Firm knowledge of research data management
Module development for database management.
Firm Knowledge of the science of statistics, including statistical theory, techniques and methods encompassing such areas as sampling, ratios and proportions, measures of dispersion and central tendency, reliability, validity, correlations, time-series, trends, index numbers, forecasting, categorical data analysis and non-parametric methods.
Solid skill in manipulating computer based statistical applications or tool (SAS/SPSS/R). Ability to develop application programs based on demand and implementation of data analyzing;
Knowledge of methods/graphics used in presenting statistical data.
Ability to prepare scientific report both in English and Chinese. The jobholder should be endowed with favorable communication skills and demonstrate professional abilities of reading, writing and expressing in Chinese and English. Employees with experience in publication of English scientific papers and study of medical statistics, with project and research experiences (research papers published), or with clinical background, are preferred.
