The area: MarketingThe Google marketing team is responsible for marketing the company's exceptional product portfolio to end users, partners and customers on a worldwide basis. We have a variety of roles, including product marketing, creative services, event management, quantitative marketing and field marketing.
The role: Product Marketing Manager, ConsumerAs a Product Marketing Manager, you will work with the the corporate marketing group, sales, and product teams to support and drive projects. You'll also develop a world-class marketing team through mentorship, recruitment and team-building activities. Additionally, you will work closely with Google's Sales, Product and Partnerships teams to build Google's business in a fast, start-up like environment. You bring an entrepreneurial spirit, preferably with experience in a fast, startup-like environment, and you'll have a significant opportunity to grow within the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Sponsor and co-lead product research that offers penetrating insights into the needs and wants of local consumers and customers
- Identify product gap where as a company we fail or could do a better job to better satisfy end users and customers
- Work with the Product, Engineering, Business Development and Sales Teams to translate the user needs and wants into product requirements
- Work to drive long term product roadmap along with the Product Management and Engineering Teams
- Advocate for China’s product requirements to the executive management team
- BA/BS degree with strong academic background or equivalent experience (higher level degree a plus). MBA strongly preferred.
- Degree in marketing, psychology, computer science, math or another related subject is preferred.
- At least 4 years of experience in developing product and/or product marketing plans based on deep consumer insights
- Native speaker of Mandarin Chinese and fluent in English
- Online marketing and/or product management experience a strong plus
- Strong aptitude for determining the optimal way to position products in the market
- Proven ability to recommend appropriate consumer marketing research and distill from raw research data key consumer insights
