In recent years, China iron and steel industry has developed with a high speed. Along with it, the development of steel logistics industry is speeding up. The metal services center, a new logistics model is booming. However, it is substantially a copy of those of America and Japan. China steel industry has its own characteristics, so this paper studies on a more suitable model under Chinese environment. This paper gives a brief introduction to the current marketing channel and commercial model of iron and steel distribution industry of our country. It puts forward problems existing in commercial model. Besides, it analyzes current situation of metal services center of our country. Referring to the theory of logistics management, it analyzes logistics elements of the center and work out the model of center for middle and small customer groups. The model is to set up a large-scale logistics enterprise with high information technology and management level. It should locate in a place near suppliers ensuring that goods can be reached to the users within 72 hours.
