How to cancel the auto-renewal of your GARP membership fee?
– An important notice for all those FRM candidates.

Recently I have seen some people saying that they have been charged US$195 by GARP without any prior notification. Actually when you successfully registered for FRM exams, you must have inadvertently ticked an option saying that in future times, you would authorize GARP to automatically renew your membership via your previously paid debit/credit card. If you do not want this, please proceed to the GARP official website to upgrade your personal information to cancel the automatic renewal fee (See below for how to cancel it).
In fact, all GARP members/ FRM charterholders are not compulsorily required to pay the membership fee, which is totally different from what you will see in CFA program and ACCA program. The membership fees just guarantee you extra services such as GARP conference, GARP magazines, wider information, etc. As for us students, these extra services are not that valuable. Surely, not paying annual membership fees will never deprive of your FRM designation!!! Take it easy! It's not CFA or ACCA or other programs. In terms of this point, GARP seems to show its humanization. However, GARP is still like a savage due to its default auto renewal policy without any notification in advance.
As for those who have got $195 deducted from their credit/ debit card, it is likely impossible to call it back, just regard it as lesson and experience. (I have found that someone says you can ask GARP to refund within 60 days from the day charged, but seems no reply yet. So you may try it out.)

STEP 2: Enter both your email address and password you have previously registered. STEP 3: Upon login, proceed to click on the “Auto Renewal” button until it turns to “Disable”.
