How do you choose your actuarial employer?

Dear Friends, I understand it is very hard to boil down your reasoning to only one factor in selecting your actuarial employer, but what really matters to you the most?
Do you really care about the big bucks or making a mark in your expertise? Do you want a career in a metropolis or a nice new england town?

It depends on whether you want to choose a temporary employer or a permanent employer. If you only want to work at somewhere for a short time, such as 6 months - 2 years, and then find a permanent job somewhere else. Well, your number-1 goal for the short-term job should be accumulation of valuable working experience instead of compensation. However, your long-term goal should be securing a permanent position that involves competitive compensation packages, flexible working schedules, and the joy of your work.
