Summary
Back in 2009, the Korean manufacturers stole a march on their
Japanese and US rivals by producing smaller cars that were cheap
to buy and economical to run. Improved fuel efficiency helped them
achieve phenomenal growth in markets around the world. But now
the competition is catching up. This report looks at whether Hyundai
Motor Company and Kia can stay ahead of the pack as the race to
design more advanced conventional engines, electric vehicles and
hybrid cars heats up.
