<P>Just what is happening to the Malaysia stock market? One after another listed<BR>company is being taken private. First it was the biggest mobile service provider<BR>Maxis Communications Berhad (MAXIS )who made the surprise announcement<BR>to take the company private by offering $15.60 per share, 20% “windfall” above<BR>the stock closing price before the announcement, to minority shareholders.<BR>MAXIS shares were delisted from Bursa Malaysia and the company taken private<BR>in what is believed to be South-East Asia's biggest buyout. MAXIS move to<BR>privatize was aimed at expanding its business overseas including in India and to<BR>remove the fears of its minority shareholders on the fluctuation in its share price.</P>
