the following SAS program is submitted:

which one of the following represents the type and the length of the variable DATE in the output data set?

为什么答案是： character, 10 bytes.

informat 为ddmmyy10.  已经把date的长度定义为10了

If the PUT function returns a value to a variable that has not yet been assigned a length, by default the variable length is determined by the width of the format.

Since the format is ddmmyy10. so the length of the variable date will be 10.
