If you only have high school calculus background, I think that's not enough. And I don't think you need to read other books if you don't have sufficient time, the manual is good enough for you to study by yourself.
And you can download the sample questions and solutions from the www.soa.org, that is very important.
Don't worry about the exam P, it's very easy.

正准备去考个P呢，不过才刚刚开始筹划这件事

准备考C，好纠结啊。。。。我的P才8分，都没信心了，我考试感觉还超级好的，结果太让我失望了

我觉得只要你好好准备，是没有问题的，还有两个多月呢，时间非常充裕啊。

P很容易就会过的，起码我到现在还没怎么听说过有中国的学生挂在了P上。
