Job Descriptions
The Milliman Shanghai office provides consulting servicesto a broad array of clients in the Property & Casualty and Health fields. Weare looking for an entry-level actuarial student. This position providesexcellent opportunities for professional development and advancement.
This position is open not only to actuarial students, butalso those studying for a degree with a high quantitative and analyticalcontent (e.g. mathematics, statistics, operational research, risk management,engineering, etc).
The candidate should have excellent analytical,communication, time management and organizational skills.
We provide extensive on-the-job training in consultingskills and advanced actuarial techniques.
Job responsibilities
- Datapreparation and analysis for the actuarial reserving works
- Actuarialassistance to the development of new health products and premium rates as wellas the risk profile analysis
- Actuarialsupport for due diligence and appraisal value for mergers and acquisitions ofnon-life insurance companies
- Clientinteraction including data collection, project updates and follow-ups
- Creativeproblem-solving using spreadsheets, databases, and other resources tosynthesize and analyze data and information
- Presentingresults to peers, project managers, and client relationship managers
- Draftingwritten reports and preparing other external/internal correspondence
- Preparingand documenting project files
- Assistingwith research and marketing projects
What we look for
- Bachelordegree or above in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science or related field
- Proficiencywith spreadsheets and database applications (Microsoft Office products)
- SAS knowledge a plus
- Strongquantitative and analytical skills
- Strongcommunication (written and oral), and organizational skills
- Client-focused,results-driven, and detail-oriented
- Strongtime management skills
- Self-motivatedand creative problem solver
- Ability towork independently and in a team environment
