Summary: simple introduction using practical software This book uses Excel to develop spreadsheets for Cost-Benefit Analysis, or Benefit-Cost-Analysis, as it it is also known as. The rendering is non-technical, it is ideal for second-year economics students to use; some prior knowledge in basic mathematical economics, statistics and economics is ideal. The design is professional and sleek, it is not cluttered with graphs and formulas, very nicely done. I have to compare this book with Boardman's book,Cost Benefit Analysis: Concepts and Practice (3rd Edition), probably the most widely known textbook on the same topic. Boardman's book is more extensive in coverage and more advanced with the mathematics. Personally I prefer Campbell because it shows you how to use CBA/BCA practically with Excel. If it is mainly alot of theoretical coverage you want, then choose Boardman, for easier reading and practicality use Campbell. |
