摘要：This paper is split into five sections, starting with a brief overview of the FX market, a
description of its size and the regulatory regime under which it operates. The second
section sets out the structure of the FX market and the different phases of the FX trade
life-cycle: trade, post-execution/pre-settlement and settlement. Section three looks at
how the FX market performed during the recent financial turbulence, using the
Lehman bankruptcy as a case study and drawing out the key observations made by the
market. Section four briefly sets out current market initiatives under discussion to
reduce risks further. Finally, section five provides a brief summary.
