About the Author
Aspasia Vlachvei is Professor of Marketing, in Western Macedonia University of Applied Sciences since 2002. Prior to that she has been employed in various capacities at the University of Macedonia, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, University of Thessaly and TEI of Thessaloniki, Greece. She has been Visiting Professor in Kiev National University of Taras Shevchenko, Ukraine. She holds a BA degree from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, MSc in «Rural Economics and Development» from Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Chania and a Ph.D degree on Agricultural Economics from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, since 1997. She has received scholarship (1994-97) from National Scholarship foundation. Her research interests focus on international marketing strategies, competitiveness, wine tourism and wine marketing, e-marketing, social media. She is co-editor of the proceedings and member of scientific and organising committee of International Conference on Applied Economics - ICOAE (2008-16). She has been guest Editor in Journal of International Trade Law and Policy, International Journal of Computational Economics and Econometrics, International Journal of Financial Economics and Econometrics. She has published in several professional journals such as Applied Economics, American Journal of Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Economics, British Food Journal, Journal of European Economy, Annals of Public and Cooperative Economics and New Medit.
About this book
This conference proceedings volume presents advanced methods in time series estimation models that are applicable various areas of applied economic research such as international economics, macroeconomics, microeconomics, finance economics and agricultural economics. Featuring contributions presented at the 2018 International Conference on Applied Economics (ICOAE) held in Warsaw, Poland, this book presents contemporary research using applied econometric method for analysis as well as country specific studies with potential implications on economic policy.
Applied economics is a rapidly growing field of economics that combines economic theory with econometrics to analyse economic problems of the real world usually with economic policy interest. ICOAE is an annual conference started in 2008 with the aim to bring together economists from different fields of applied economic research in order to share methods and ideas. Approximately 150 papers are submitted each year from about 40 countries around the world. The goal of the conference and the enclosed papers is to allow for an exchange of experiences with different applied econometric methods and to promote joint initiatives among well-established economic fields such as finance, agricultural economics, health economics, education economics, international trade theory and management and marketing strategies.
