In the crisis and dilemma，the Manage Layer decided to take special measures to stimulate the employee‘s inspiration。But to the limit of relevant resources，such as funds，they have no choice but to reduce the whole paying of them. The most important crucial point is that moderate anxiety during them is helpful to  the performance of employees. Since that

华尔街正准备裁员，这并不奇怪。欧洲债务危机使市场产生了动摇。新条例约束了银行的核心利润点。但是减少分红却导致了其它薪资支出的飙升。
还在为上次裁员而抓破脑袋？
在承认自己在金融危机的不道德行为后，华尔街巨头们去年减少了给员工的分红，看起来是在减少开支。但是这些分红大部分以股票的形式支付，使其薪水与公司的表现相关。
但是华尔街并不一定削减整体薪酬。其秘密是大部分公司提升了基本工资来弥补其奖金的减少。一些ZF官员透露了他们的小把戏。
现在这种新的薪资结构产生了意想不到的结果：在经济疲软时期，阻碍了华尔街的发展。
过去，当银行利润大幅下滑时，银行更喜欢削减可变成本，而不是发出一堆解雇通知书。现在，像工资这样的固定成本占了企业费用的比例增加了。所以裁员看起来更具有吸引力。
提高基本工资有一个很明显的后果，那就是减弱了薪酬与绩效之间的联系，但相反的，比起简单减少员工花红来说，银行更愿意开除那些表现不好的员工。

Pink slip最早出现于20世纪初，指的是“员工周薪信封里夹着的粉红色小纸条”，当然，收到“pink slip”的员工随即将被解聘。至于为什么要用粉红色，有解释认为，粉红色相对而言比较柔和，似乎可以慰藉被裁员工的“受伤心灵”。
和pink slip具有相同含义的另外两种说法是“marching orders”和“walking papers”，其字面意是“下逐客令”。
与fire（开除）有所不同，收到pink slip, marching orders或walking papers，往往是由于公司财务欠佳，不得不裁员。而fire多半是由于你不称职或犯了错而被“炒鱿鱼”。另外，介乎pink slip和fire之间的是lay off（暂停雇用）。

From the point of promotion, I think the company has more initiative if  bonus is high  and salary is low. They can  inspire the excellent by high bonus and pay basis salary to those they don't want to hire any more. And they also have the right to fire them. It depends on the company.
In England, it is said that about half of the workers are encouraged to work part-time, to lower the pressure of salary payment for the company.
Maybe the decision to let one or two leave is difficult to make, while to hand out pink slips en masse seems more fair?  Or maybe the higher-ups want to maximize their income even without bonus? Sometimes I even guess some companies are saving up strength while saying not so good to the outside.
